Charlie never failed to disappoint on his last two outings.. He was placed 4th at Finvoy EI finishing on his dressage score, then went on to take the 1st
place Rosette at Glenpatrick EI on Saturday in very testing conditions. We are both super proud of him. He will be competing at Killossery (Dublin)
this weekend before he enjoys a few weeks holidays chilling out in the field.
Glenvine Creg Ny Baa made his Debut at The Royal Dublin Show in August. He behaved impeccably for it being his first time at the RDS and took it all in his stride. Coming home with a 6th place rosette in a strong coloured class was the icing on the cake. We were absolutely delighted. Denver and me are so proud of him.
So it was back eventing at Loughanmore Eventing Ireland, 4 weeks after Charlie's Dublin debut. We finished on our dressage score of 25.8 to come home with a 2nd place rosette in a strong class of 20. Over the moon with him and we both thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Two more events left for us will then finish the 2015 season....Charlie will be looking forward to his well earned holidays by then.
Denver made the trip recently to Edinburgh to sadly collect "Atlas"on behalf of Susan Oakes. Not everyday we get a request to go over the water but we both knew how important it was for Susan to have Atlas cremated in Ireland.
Atlas was her horse of a lifetime, she was very proud and honoured that he was part of her life, so his loss has been very hard for her.
Atlas gained Susan the world side saddle jump record of 6ft 8. He competed at the higest level including the World Equestrian games in Aachen 2006 and he jumped internationally for 4 different countries in Nations cup Grand Prix. He was such an amazing horse.
We are so glad that Susan now has Atlas home safely with her and that she has so many fantastic memories to cherish forever.
RIP Atlas. you will never be forgotten.
The racing world said a fond farewell to a legend as Derby winner High Chaparral is put down during exploratory colic surgery due to a perforated intestine.
A massive loss for Coolmore Stud and all the racing world.
We were yet again very honoured to be asked to take care of such a legend for his private cremation.
RIP High Chaparral.
We were very honoured to take care of Charco's cremation for Neil and Kate Powell. Charco was a life saving dog in mountain search and rescue, drowned victim recovery, collapsed structure searching and optical disc and drug detection. Losing such an amazing dog is a massive loss to the Powell's and in the world of search and rescue.
Glenvine was yet again very honoured to be asked to take care of the very well known race horse "Solwhit" for private cremation. Anybody that follows racing will know what a successful race horse he was.
He was put to sleep after suffering a broken shoulder in a training session. Trained by Charles Byrnes for The top of the hill syndicate, Solwhit landed eight grade 1s in total, 13 wins and eight placings from his 23 starts over hurdles.
His finest moment came when capturing the 2013 world hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival.
Our thoughts are with Charles Byrne and top of the hill syndicate at this sad time.
