About Us
We opened Glenvine Pet and Equine Crematorium in January 2009, initially for small animals, and then for equines in spring 2010, when we realised there was nowhere in Ireland north or south for the crematation of individual horses.
We put a lot of thought and research into the facility, including visting similar establishments in England to see how they were run.
Being horse owners ourselves, we knew how distressing it was to see our much loved horse or pony being taken to the knackers yard after it had passed away. We offer to all our customers, a complete and dignified service, starting with the collection of the body, and ending with the delivery of the ashes in a beautiful chest or casket of your choice with ingraved nameplate.
We would like to point out that the animal is cremated whole, and we went to great lengths to insure the incinerator was big enough to take the largest of equines.
We are D.A.R.D approved and have all the regulatory and legal requirements, and being family run there is a more caring and personal touch which is very important to us. We also offer if required a bereavement service through the blue cross.
We cover all areas of Ireland and prices vary according to requirements.

Equine Cremation - An option at last
Equine cremation - an option at last AT last horse owners in Northern Ireland, and indeed throughout Ireland, have an alternative option if they find themselves in the unfortunate position of their equine friend passing away. Up until now, the options open to horse owners have been very limited, with burial not an option for anyone who doesn't own their own land, even if the horse was their pet. Many horse lovers do not relish the thought of having their beloved deceased equine winched onto a lorry and removed to the knacker's yard or the 'burn house'... But all that is about to change... Thanks to the foresight of Denver Robb and Lynsey McClune, who initially set up Glenvine Pet Crematorium and have now been licensed to cremate equines as well - the first equine crematorium on the island of Ireland! Lynsey works part-time in a veterinary surgery and, over a period of time, noted how emotionally attached clients were to their pets and how upsetting it was for them when their pet passed away. Many clients were not in a position to be able to bury their pets, so they chose to have them cremated instead. Being an animal lover herself, Lynsey recognised the need for people to be treated with respect and dignity following the loss of their pet - as for many, it was just like losing a member of their family. Lynsey and Denver decided to look into setting up their own pet crematorium outside Randalstown and thus, after going through all the necessary procedures with DARD, meeting all the legal requirements and being granted the appropriate license, Glenvine Pet Crematorium was opened in January 2009. At present, they have about 20 vets on their books for the small animal side of the business, which reaches from Castlewellan up to Limavady. They are a family run business and pride themselves on providing that extra personal touch. They put great emphasis on customer service; they even have a bereavement room where owners can bring their pet to say their last goodbye (this is only available to small animals).
They also have a great selection of caskets and scatter pouches for clients to choose from, as well as a pet bereavement service, if required. Glenvine also provides a follow up service for clients. Denver and Lynsey quickly realised that there was a gap in the market for a facility to cremate equines; they did some research into the facilities available to horse owners on the mainland and found out what they would need to do to provide a similar service to those in Ireland, north and south. They purchased plant large enough to accommodate equines and have gone through the procedures to be granted the appropriate license. They also had a trailer purpose-built for collecting horses or ponies - with the aim of being dignified and respectful to the deceased animal and it's owners. Glenvine Pet and Equine Crematorium is now set up and ready to go. Denver and Lynsey will be on call all day, every day and will collect from anywhere in Ireland (prices will vary according to location). Each animal is allocated an individual tracker number and Glenvine guarantees that your own equine's ashes will be returned to you. Ashes are ready for collection / delivery within three to seven days and, for individual cremations, will be supplied in a crafted casket with a brass name plate and a certificate of cremation. From the outset, Denver and Lynsey have given their support to a number of animal charities. They ran the Edinburgh half-marathon for Crosskennan Lane Animal Sanctuary; they have done various things for the Cats Protection League and in October this year, they are heading over to Brussels to run the marathon for The Blue Cross.
